You could find yourself working with these companies very soon, so let us properly introduce you to three of Cornwall’s most recent and notable arrivals.
Cornwall becomes the natural next step for Swedish Technology Innovators Strikersoft
Swedish software development company Strikersoft has recently established an office in Cornwall – its first in the UK. Cornwall’s streamlined healthcare environment, governed by a single NHS trust, made it a natural choice for the company that was looking to make inroads with the NHS and see success across the UK. The company’s journey to get here has been very interesting. Strikersoft first discovered the opportunities that awaited in Cornwall when representatives from the company met with the Cornwall Trade and Investment team at the MYiHealth event in Stockholm in 2016.
Conversations at the event led to Cornwall Trade and Investment helping the company plan a trip to Cornwall, packed with productive meetings and introductions to key contacts that would prove invaluable in Strikersoft’s mission to work closely with the NHS. Those initial meetings sparked a productive working relationship between the company and the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, giving Strikersoft the final reason it needed to establish its new Cornish office.
“We see Cornwall as being one of the most progressive areas of UK. What we’ve found is a willingness to try new things, and an openness to new players and ideas. At the same time, organisations in Cornwall are of the right size to be able to act fast and avoid the inherent bureaucracy that is often found in London for example” – Tim Bray, VP Sales, Strikersoft
ABS finds a new home for Agritech innovation
The UK is regarded as a Global Centre of Excellence for Agritech Research, Development and Innovation – and thanks to Cornwall’s rich farming heritage, agriculture is in our DNA. With a dedicated Agritech growth hub, and multiple sources of funding available for Agritech innovators, it’s no wonder why New Zealand-based Agricultural Biosecurity Services (ABS) chose Cornwall as the best location to establish itself in Europe.
In addition to the availability of vital funding, Cornwall’s unique agriculture environment is a perfect fit for ABS – a company that focusses on helping farmers and governments improve animal health. ABS joins a growing number of Agritech innovators from around that world that have converged in Cornwall, ensuring that the region’s rich heritage and reputation for excellence in farming continues for years to come.
“Cornwall has an environment where Agritech is supported very strongly, the government support agencies are very proactive and they work together. If you’re an agritech business and you’re looking to move from New Zealand into Europe particularly, Cornwall is an excellent place to go. You will get support, you will be working with really great people. They make things happen.” – Michael Ross, Director, ABS
Creative agency Stuff branches out further into the south west
Stuff is a Bristol-based marketing, advertising and PR agency, specialising in building bespoke campaigns, and in their own words, bringing together all the stuff that great campaigns are made of. The agency has broad experience across diverse sectors, including food and drink, travel and tourism, renewable energy, and marine technology – all adding up to make Cornwall a great target for its strategic expansion.
Stuff’s new Perranporth office is home to old and new staff alike, and provides an inspiring space close to many of the business types that the agency serves best. Stuff joins a growing digital marketing and PR community in Cornwall, and we’re extremely excited to see what its driven, creative team can achieve in the region.
“We will continue to seek out and work with like-minded people who believe in the same kind of straight-talking we do; a philosophy and culture that is at the heart of our agency because it allows us to really drive our simple proposition of ‘the stuff great campaigns are made of’ and, in turn, drive growth for our clients in the South West – a stunning place to work and live.” – Stuff press release
